Responsible AI. Policy. UX Research. Engineering
I was born in Pune (India), lived in Minnesota and am currently based in State College, Pennsylvania! From tropical climate to polar vortexes, I’ve experienced it all! Over the last decade, I have transitioned from being a software engineer working in the telecom industry to a Responsible AI-UX researcher working on leveraging technology to solve social problems (with a short but productive detour via education policy and program evaluation). I am a doctoral candidate in Informatics investigating the design space for AI-empowered teaching and learning technologies. My internship experiences in the Ethical/Responsible AI space at IBM Research and Microsoft AI Ethics, and Effects in Engineering and Research have allowed me to conduct research that foster meaningful human-AI interactions and collaborations. I am motivated to design and research technology that enables us to not only reimagine and rethink our futures, while being mindful of not perpetuating fairness-, reliability and safety-related harms in our world.
